Most of our students fly into the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi (DEL).
The Delhi airport is about 250km (or 155 miles) away from our school, so you have several ways to get here.
We arrange for many of our students to be picked up directly from the airport and driven straight to their comfy room at Raj Yoga Rishikesh.
The drive is about 6-8 hours depending on traffic, and it’s about 4000 Rupees (or roughly $65 USD). A lot of our students also choose to split the cost of their ride with another student (and bond before the course starts as well.)
Trains are a great way to meet locals and strike up great conversations. There is a public train system that runs between Delhi and Haridwar (a neighboring city of Rishikesh just 25 km away). After Haridwar, you can take a bus or taxi into Rishikesh.
The process of booking a train ticket on makemytrip as a foreigner is detailed here.
You can fly into the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun (DED), which is only about 20km (12 mi) away from Rishikesh.Alternatively, you should also check if a flight from your home country to Dehradun is about the same cost as a flight to Delhi, as you’d save about 5-8 hours in land travel time.
